The following examples all use the muted playing technique. A minimal approach can be applied to this style of guitar so that the overall sound does not become washed out and muddy. Most of the chords are power chords. Example 31a
(All strings have been detuned a whole tone making DGCFAD)
Example 31b
This example was recorded with Melbourne band "The Need". The main riff is introduced without being doubled by the bass. The space this creates makes this section sound bigger. The pre-chorus has the bass and guitar playing hammmer-on lines further up the neck. In the final section the bass doubles the original guitar part for a thicker effect.
Example 31c
(All strings have been detuned a whole tone making DGCFAD) Example 31d
(All strings have been detuned a whole tone making DGCFAD) Example 31e
(All strings have been detuned a whole tone making DGCFAD) Try jamming over some Metal grooves in the Session time section.
